Javier Tebas admits he has no legal power to force Peter Lim to leave Valencia.

La Liga president Javier Tebas said on Thursday he has no legal power to force Singaporean billionaire Peter Lim to sell Valencia, amid ongoing anger among Valencia fans, Ufabet reports. 

Spendthrifts and a refusal to fund the construction of the Nou Mestalla have cost Valencia a place at the 2023 World Cup, further angering Valencia fans at Peter Lim and his owner Meriton Holdings, with Tebas telling reporters he has no legal powers to force the Singaporean tycoon to let go of the club. 

Tebas has said he has no power to force Peter Lim สมัคร ufabet to sell Valencia or to bring in investors to buy the club, and declined to comment on the Singaporean tycoon, as he has occasionally done with other clubs. 

Valencia have been in a constant decline since Peter Lim bought a 70.4 per cent majority stake in the club in 2014, with the Valencia side having not qualified for Europe since 2019 following the departure of Marcelino Garcia Toral and having struggled for survival in recent seasons.

Valencia have been without European football since Marcelino Garcia Toral left the club in 2019, the year they won the Copa del Rey last. Various managers have come and gone in that period, many like Marcelino falling out with the club’s hierarchy. The fanbase at Mestalla continue to protest Lim’s management of the club on a regular basis, but beyond that, the club remains in a period of limbo to an extent.
